Remote online notarization

Notarize by secure video session - no travel, no office visit. I am approved by the Maine Secretary of State to perform remote and electronic notarizations, effective July 31, 2026.

How it works

  1. Book a session and upload your document.
  2. Verify your identity with a government-issued photo ID during the session.
  3. Meet on camera - I witness the signing and apply an electronic seal.
  4. Receive the completed, notarized document electronically.

What you need

  • A government-issued photo ID
  • A computer, tablet, or phone with a camera and microphone
  • A reliable internet connection

The platform

Sessions run on BlueNotary, a technology provider approved by the Maine Secretary of State. Maine law authorizes a Maine notary to perform remote notarizations for signers located outside the state.

Who this serves

  • Signers in New Hampshire and the Mt. Washington Valley
  • Out-of-state family handling Maine paperwork
  • Clients in my Western Maine service area who prefer not to meet in person

Handling a closing? Remote online notarization pairs with my in-person work. I also handle loan document signings - refinances, purchases, HELOCs, and reverse mortgages.

Acceptance

Confirm with your receiving party - lender, court, or recording office - that they accept remotely notarized documents. Acceptance is set by the receiver, not the notary.
