Hospital and Care-Facility Signings

I regularly handle bedside signings at hospitals, rehab facilities, assisted living, and hospice across Western Maine, including facilities in Bridgton and Fryeburg. Same-day when the schedule allows.

No extra charge for hospital, hospice, or care-facility visits - ever. Standard appointment pricing applies - nothing added for the setting.

Available 24 hours for emergent situations. For hospice, end-of-life, and other urgent signings, call any time - day or night. Posted surcharges apply; nothing beyond them.

• Insurance and settlement paperwork

What the signer must be able to do

Maine law is strict here, and it protects your family member. The person signing must:

• understand what the document is and what it does
• be willing to sign it - not pressured
• be awake and able to communicate that to me at the time of signing

If a signer is medicated, asleep, or unable to show they understand the document, I cannot notarize - no notary legally can. If you are not sure about timing, call me before booking and we will talk it through. There is no charge for that conversation.

ID at the bedside

Every signer needs a valid government-issued photo ID. If the ID situation is complicated - a license that recently expired, or no ID on hand - call before the appointment and I will tell you exactly what will and will not work before anyone spends money on a visit.

Scheduling

Call or text with the facility, the documents, and the timing. Family members are welcome to coordinate on behalf of a patient - but the signer must be the one who signs, willingly and aware, when I arrive.

If a signing cannot be completed when I arrive - a signer without valid ID, or unable or unwilling to sign - the appointment fee and mileage driven still apply, per the posted cancellation policy.
